What happens when you are not divorced and name your girlfriend as beneficiary on 401k?

My boyfriend is currently going through a divorce. Now he is entitled to half of her 401k. If he gets half and names me as beneficiary but the divorce isn't quite finalized and something happens to him, who gets the money?
