LG Ally or HTC Eris ?

I currently have the HTC Eris and I dont really like it. I found someone with the LG Ally that wants to trade. I have played around with the Ally in stores and I think I'll really like it. Here is the problem though, My Eris has insurance and I wont be able to get insurance on the Ally. Would it be dumb to get rid of an insured phone that I hate for an uninsured one that I really like?
