Should I buy the used car or not?

Here is the problem: I went to go see a 1996 Acura Integra yesterday that I had found on craigslist. It looked great and everything, I test drove to see if the engine/ transmission were ok and they were. Or at least I didn't notice any problems. The thing is I don't know much about cars. After I got home, I called my dad who knows a little more than I do, but he hasn’t seen the car. I told him about it and based on what he heard he said not to buy it. He said based on the year and the fact that it has 138k miles on it, that I would probably have smog issues and stuff. I have the car fax report and the car has only ever failed one of about 12 emissions tests and when it failed, it had been 9 years ago. Since then every emissions test it’s been through has ped. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Acura Integras as well, like they last a long time if taken care of. The car in all will only cost me about 2600. So what I want to know is if you think I should buy it or if I should listen to my dad.
